I'm Elise Harlow, a Registered Dietitian with a Masters degree in Nutritional Sciences. I am originally from Texas but Southern California is my new home. I enjoy anything outside- the beach, hiking, picnics, reading a book by the pool, as well as anything that involves cooking, food, and wine.
My love for nutrition grew from my love for food. As a child, my mom taught me how delicious real, home cooked food can be. Her commitment to providing us with real whole foods piqued my interest in nutrition. Now, my goal is to help you integrate nutritious food into your busy lifestyle so you can feel the best from the inside out.
"People who love to eat are always the best people"
- Julia Childs
I believe that eating should first and foremost be enjoyable. We should not be choking down certain foods just for the sake of health. I also believe that balance is key. Yes, we eat because we have to, but we also eat for pleasure. Lots of my clients come to me with the mindset that eating healthy food means green juices and 10 day detoxes. I feel passionately about showing people that these two things are not mutually exclusive. Eating foods that we truly enjoy is important to both our mental and physical health... and let’s be honest, salad is just not as nourishing for my soul as a donut!
Although I am a dietitian by trade, I am human first. Humans are not meant to be perfect. The same goes for food - there is no one perfect way to eat. I believe pizza and wine nights are just as “healthy” as salad and baked salmon - it is all about the balance.
